Haaa, the post-Christmas period… That time of the year when all the magic is gone, leaving nothing behind but harsh, cold and miserable weather.

Alright don’t despair yet! We’ve got just what you need.

Genymobile’s mulled wine recipe (10 people)

For French people like us, mulled wine is literally sacred. No wonder! Who would say “no” to a hot beverage with sweet flavors of orange and cinnamon? Not to mention the French wine (what else?).

But let’s get back to o̶u̶r̶ ̶s̶h̶e̶e̶p the point. If you landed here, there’s a high chance you’re feeling frozen and looking for a mouthwatering pick-me-up. Well good news! Our recipe is pretty easy and straightforward. Here’s the shopping list:


The perfect mulled wine in 10 easy steps

Our mulled wine recipe is for 10 people. If you’re less than 10, well you’re absolutely not old enough kid… Also, if red wine isn’t your thing, a good substitute is apple-juice. But don’t add any sugar in that case! Back to the recipe steps:

  1. Don’t drink the wine yet
  2. Put 200g of brown sugar in a heated saucepan
  3. Add lemon peel and squeeze the 6 oranges
  4. Add the 4 cloves and the 6 cinnamon sticks
  5. Open the first bottle and refer to step 1
  6. Cover the mixture with a little bit of wine and let it all simmer for 10 minutes
  7. Once the sugar has dissolved, bring to a boil
  8. Let it boil for about 5 minutes until you get a thick syrup
  9. Turn the heat down and add the 4 star anises and the 4 spearmint branches
  10. Add the rest of the wine and let it boil for another 5 minutes
