On the lookout for new trends and future connected objects @Wearables TechCon

Wearables TechCon is an event created for OEM builders, designers, and developers of wearable computing technology. This year was the second edition and the event was held in Santa Clara. It consists in a set of talks and one showroom from people working “under the hood” (on very technical parts of those technologies). Thus, expert engineers, developers, designers, and enthusiastic people were all together in one place at one time.

Genymobile was present during the 2015 edition.

Conclusion? We expected a bigger event and a more technical conference, as it was advertised as “most of the sessions will be advanced”. We expected it to be a developer-oriented event, yet developers were maybe around 30 or 40% of the audience only (based on purely subjective cliches we have of developers/managers/sales guys). On the business side, Laurent was doing the job, but we got a few leads worse exploring. It was a nice experience for us, but probably not the best event for Genymobile to attend as we don’t manufacture wearables. Maybe it’s because the wearable market is not mature yet and then there are not so much to talk about technically?
